Hello Beauties! I've taken a short hiatus from blogging with fall approaching and my baby belly growing. I wanted however, to give you guys some real transparent information about ingredients, quality, cost and value.
I know it's extremely important to feel like you are getting value. I personally have my own budget when it comes to nutrition, household and green beauty, and I'm sure most of you do too! So I'm going to break down some of the things that go into our pricing so you can make more informed decisions when it comes to our products.
Quality of Ingredients
The largest cost of our products is the ingredients and it's something I'm unwilling to compromise on. We use the finest quality, trusted, certified organic, wild crafted, non-gmo, and pure ingredients possible. We also use the most beneficial ingredients we can find, regardless of the price because I want our products to have the maximum benefit for your skin issues.
Yes, you can go to marshalls or homegoods and find discounted and appealing-looking skin care products that might be ok. But have you ever read the back ingredient list? Sometimes what says "Argan Oil" on the front, is actually a blend of argan oil, and several other oils... leaving you wondering how much argan oil is actually in the product. Are they fresh? Are they unadulterated? Are they organic? Are they the highest quality? It's a big unknown.
That brings me to another point, we don't skimp on the good stuff. I formulate products using the highest ratio of the best ingredients I can, accounting for scent, price and benefits. Something like Rose Otto for example, is $725/ounce. Luckily, it's highly concentrated and aromatic, so we don't need to go overboard, but that cost still works into our prices. By the way, I'm always happy to tell you the ratios of ingredients!
So yes, the cost of our ingredients is worked into our prices but I try to keep all of our products within a certain price range without sacrificing quality and benefits. I also try to offer a range of products at different price points and make trial sizes available whenever I can.
Not only do we use the finest ingredients possible, we give you a detailed breakdown of our ingredients on each product page, so you know what you're putting on your skin and why.

Lets face it, packaging matters. We want something to look pretty on a shelf, be reusable/recycleable and green. We have come a long way from our cobalt blue bottles and paper labels. We now use clear glass dropper bottles and jars, and waterproof labels. We are also decreasing bubble wrap use, by using new cloth bags(reusable!) to keep many of our products safe in transit, as well as new gold paper tubing to secure our fragile bottles. We just got new shipping boxes yesterday, so are hoping to decrease use of bubble mailers. Being green isn't cheap, but it's how we do things right. I'm not afraid to change if it means we are improving and that means we have changed a lot in the last 2.5 years.
It takes a lot of woman power to keep this little business running. I'm a fulltime mother of one(soon-to-be-two), and I dedicate any free moments I have, to Argan Republic. It's truly a labor of love and incredibly fufilling personally for me. That being said, I spend anywhere from 3-7 hours per day(on top of my mothering duties) formulating, blending, packaging, emailing, writing, web-designing, promoting and researching. How much of that time is billed into your product? Not much. I bill roughly 2 hours into each batch of product, even though much more goes into a product's value than just the 2 hours it took me to craft it. By the way, I'm writing to you right now from starbucks while my daughter is in preschool. Pumpkin Spice Latte anyone?
Promoting Green Beauty
I'm sure you get my email newsletter, you've seen my instagram feed, my facebook posts. They're free, but my beautiful professional photography on the website is not, my website is not, and all the little apps that it takes to run an ecommerce business are not free. We don't do much as far as paid advertizing but sometimes run a little facebook ad. In general, I want people to find us organically, through word of mouth or via a google search. Because those are the customers that need us, who appreciate us and who understand us.
I try to be really generous, so even though our products are not the least expensive, you can get a really good deal on a fantastic product. It's something not many high-end green beauty companies offer, there's no question in my mind that we offer the greatest number of discounts and promotions.
We have a kick-ass rewards program, so I hope you are tracking your earnings! You can earn points on purchases, birthdays, shares, and referrals. When you hit the threshold, you get a store credit. Yeah!
Find the program HERE
We have sales pretty frequently but they're short, so make sure you are signed up for the newsletter and getting our notifications on social media. We almost always have something in the SALE section of our website.

I love doing giveaways! It's such a thrill sending a sweet little package out to someone who wasn't expecting it. We now do a monthly giveaway for a $50 gift certificate. All you have to do is share on instagram, worth it!
We always offer Free US Shipping on orders over $100, but all summer long we lowered that threshold to $50. Keep an eye out because sometimes we do free shipping on any order, just for fun.
We have tons of coupon codes floating around from bloggers and newsletters. We offer 15% off your first purchase when you sign up for our newsletter, special coupons for leaving a review, birthday coupons, and more. Again, you need to follow us closely not to miss them.
We now donate 10% of profits from our Honeybee Collection to Bee the Change project of Vermont. We will be making this donation at the end of the year. Bee the Change is an initiative to repurpose solar fields into an environment for our pollinator friends.
My goal here was to give you details so you can make the best skin care choices for yourself. Argan Republic is an open book and I'm always happy to answer questions. Want more info about a product? Need a recommendation? Email me [email protected]
